Austria House: 5 Things We Know So Far

With just over 100 days to go to the Olympic Games, and after much debate, the Austrian Olympic Committee (ÖOC) announced that they will be opening the doors to Austria House at Paris 2024.

What We Know: Location

Austria House will be located at Pavillon Montsouris, in the South of Paris in the 14th arrondissement. As noted in the press release:

“We were looking for a perfect location for the Austria House and are pleased that we found it after numerous discussions and intensive negotiations with the Montsouris Pavilion. We chose a location that, in addition to a unique flair and flexible use, combines numerous other advantages: the space is busy, has a high frequency and is still family-friendly."

The Pavillon Monsouris is located in the edge of Parc Montsouris, which officially opened in the city of Paris in 1869. Considered one of the four large urban city parks, it is located in Southern Paris and amongst many features, Pavillon Montsouris sits on its Eastern edge.

What We Know: It's Public and Ticketed

Austria House will be open from July 25, the day prior to the Opening Ceremonies at Paris 2024, until the last day of the Games on August 11. In addition to a VIP area for athletes, families and sponsors, it will be open to the public.

According to the press release, ticket sales will go live on the official Austrian House website on April 25, 2024.

What We Know: It's the Heart of Austrian Programming

Pavillon Montsouris will be at the heart of Austrian Programming at Paris 2024. The venue will play host to Austrian friends from across all sectors: sport, tourism, business, politics and the media, as the press release notes.

For Austrian fans and guests from across the world, there will also be a public area, where Austrian hospitality, cuisine and culture can be enjoyed.

What We Know: Nearby Sport Events

The closest Paris 2024 sport events to Austria House will be:

• Handball, Table Tennis, Volleyball and Weightlifting at South Paris Arenas

• Tennis and Boxing at Rolland-Garros Stadium

• Football at Parc des Princes
  

All of these venues are within 45 minutes of Austria House on public transit.

What We Know: Nearby Hospitality Houses

Austria House will be located in the "South West" Cluster of Paris 2024 Hospitality Houses.

Deutsches Haus, Team GB House, Maison Polonaise and Casa Italia are within 45 minutes on public transit.
