Canada Olympic House: 5 Things We Know So Far

On November 30, the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) announced that Canada Olympic House at Paris 2024 will be located at La Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie, in Parc de la Villette.

What We Know: Location

Canada Olympic House will be located at La Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie in Parc de la Villette. Otherwise known as "CSI", this science museum is the largest in Europe. About 5 million people visit the museum annually.

La Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie is a sprawling venue, housing a planetarium, a submarine, an IMAX theatre, three greenhouse domes and many other specialized spaces. It is expected that Canada Olympic House will occupy only a small area within the total complex.

What We Know: It's Public and Ticketed

In the press release, the Canadian Olympic Committee notes:

Canada Olympic House will be open to Team Canada fans and international visitors alike. More information regarding designs, ticket purchases, food and beverage offerings and programming will be released in early 2024.

At the 2018 Winter Games in PyeongChang, Canada Olympic House entrance tickets were sold for roughly CAD$25 per day. Food and drink purchases were not included in this entrance fee.

The Canadian Olympic Committee is planning a rich program for Paris 2024, including:

• Food and beverage offerings

• Team Canada partner activations

For the first time, Canada Olympic House will also be the broadcast location for CBC/Radio-Canada's English and French Olympic broadcasting. Portions of live coverage will be streamed right from Canada Olympic House!

In the press release, the official opening dates or hours aren't mentioned for the Olympic or Paralympic Games.

What We Know: Nearby Sport Events

The closest Paris 2024 sport events to Canada Olympic House will be:

• Badminton and Rhythmic Gymnastics at La Chapelle Arena

• Artistic Swimming, Diving and Water Polo at at Centre Aquatique Olympique

• Athletics and Rugby at Stade de France

All of these venues are within 40 minutes of Canada Olympic House on public transit.

What We Know: Nearby Hospitality Houses

Canada Olympic House, located in the "North East" cluster of Paris 2024 Hospitality Houses, joins Casa Brasil, Club France, TeamNL House, Pride House and Slovenia House in Parc de la Villette. It's the 3rd-largest park in the city, totalling a whopping 55.5 hectares
