Serbian House: 5 Things We Know So Far

In late February, it was announced by the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia that the country will host a "Serbian House" for the first time in Olympic history. Like many other Hospitality Houses at Paris 2024, it will be located in Southeast Paris in Parc de la Villette.

What We Know: Location

Serbian House will be located at Théâtre Paris Villette, in Parc de la Villette. From the Chamber of Commerce press release:

"... This will be the place where Serbia will be promoted as an investment and business destination, a place of historical heritage, rich tourism, culture, tradition, and gastronomy ... Along with other national houses, right next to the national house of France as the host of the Olympics, the Serbian House will be located in La Villette Park in Paris."

What We Know: It's Public and Free

Serbian House will be open from July 26 to August 11. Entrance will be free for all visitors!

What We Know: It's an Artistic Offering

Serbian House has been created in partnership with the Olympic Committee of Serbia, as well as the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the Serbian Embassy in Paris.

The experience diverges from some other Hospitality Houses, in that it's concept is is more artistic, than sport establishment. From the press release:

"Through a multifunctional, creative, and original artistic display, with the help of modern technological solutions, the Serbian House at the Olympics in Paris will be a place where we will present the sports history of Serbia, the results and medals of Serbian Olympians, ... but also increasingly successful Serbian economy."

It will be interesting and artful experience, based on the renderings!

The above rendering, "Roots", symbolizes the tree of life from which everything originates. This sculpture will act as the core of the exhibition.

From conversations with the planning committee, the House Party Blog has learned that Serbian fans will have the opportunity to participate in an interactive journey when visiting, taking them through Serbia's historical moments at the Olympic Games. Unique!

As of now, it is not expected that fans can watch live Paris 2024 coverage at Serbian House.

What We Know: Food & Drink Will be on Offer

When exploring Serbian House, visitors will have the opportunity to sample national food and drink of Serbia, while enjoying an infusion of art, culture and performances.

What We Know: Nearby Sport Events and Hospitality Houses

The closest Paris 2024 sport events to Serbian House will be:

• Badminton and Rhythmic Gymnastics at La Chapelle Arena

• Artistic Swimming, Diving and Water Polo at at Centre Aquatique Olympique

• Athletics and Rugby at Stade de France
  

All of these venues are within 40 minutes of Serbian House on public transit.

Located in Parc de la Villette, Serbian House is located in the "North East" Cluster of Paris 2024 Hospitality Houses.
